English Department Cultural Activities October 2019 - January 2020
Burlington’s Cultural Class (22nd October)
The class offered a fun way for our Bachillerato students to learn about various aspects of British culture and history. Everyone in the class had a chance to participate and in the end, there was a quiz in the style of the TV game show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” where one lucky winner took away a prize.
Drama in English
The 15th of November 2019 we went to Centro Cívico Salvador Allende to see a play in English: Escape Room for the students of ESO and Speech Balloon for the Bachillerato students.
‘The play was about two students locked in an escape room. The actors were great and they mixed with the audience. I recommend it and I loved the story!’ (David Villacampa, 3rd ESO B)
In Speech Balloon, the story is about something unexpected that has happened in Cartoontown: Mickey Mouse has disappeared! Rodny the Rabbit, a private detective, will have to find out where Mickey is, with Peyton the Penguin and Kattie the Cat’s help.
Jack the Magician
The 22nd of January 2020 the 1st and 2nd of ESO students had a ball with Jack’s magic show, he was very engaging and involved the audience in all his tricks, he surprised us with card and coin tricks, rings and cups…he even changed a 20€ note into a 50€ one! Amazing! This magician is a genius!
